The app shows the EU common charger pictogram and the charging label next to the price on your product pages. Both are drawn to the official EU drawings and proportions.
You choose products by collection or one by one and answer 3 simple questions. Variants sold without a charger switch to the “not included” pictogram. You can also show software and security update periods next to the label.
If you sell phones, earbuds, cameras, tablets or laptops to consumers in the EU, Directive (EU) 2022/2380 requires you to show, close to the price, whether a charger is in the box, together with the charging label.
This applies to phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, headphones and earbuds, speakers, game consoles, e-readers, keyboards, mice and similar devices charged by cable.
This app helps you display the information. You remain responsible for which products are covered and for the accuracy of the information.
Open the app from Apps in your Shopify admin. A guided setup with 3 steps opens. Work through the steps in order.
Click “Choose from collections” or “Choose products” and pick the products that charge with a cable. For each group, answer 3 questions:
The live preview shows the pictogram and label your customers will see.
Click “Save to products”. This saves the answers on the chosen products. Nothing is shown in your store until you do this.
Click “Add to product page”. Your theme editor opens with the “EU Charger Label” block already added below the price. Click Save at the top right, then come back to the app. The step is ticked automatically.
Charges are added to your Shopify bill. You can upgrade or cancel at any time in the Plan card in the app.
On the product page, right below the price. The block setting “Move below the price automatically” is on by default. Turn it off if you want to position the block yourself. In the same place you can change the symbol size (at least 7 mm, as the rules require) and the colour.
If you sell a product with a charger, EU rules require you to also offer it without one. Variants whose name contains one of the words in “Variants sold without a charger” show the “not included” pictogram. The default words are: without charger, ohne Netzteil, ohne Ladegerät, sans chargeur, sin cargador. You can change them in Advanced settings.
The pictogram and label are symbols. The short text shown with them, such as “Charging device included”, follows your storefront language. It is translated into English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Danish, Swedish and Finnish. The app’s own page follows your Shopify admin language (English, German or Japanese).
To remove it from some products, remove their group in step 1 and click “Save to products” again. If you remove every group, the app offers “Remove the label from those products”. To hide it everywhere, remove the “EU Charger Label” block in your theme editor and click Save.
The label stops showing on your store. The app never edits your theme files, so no code is left behind. The access token and settings we stored are deleted.
The app uses a Shopify theme app extension, so it does not change your theme code. The label is an app block on the product page, and app blocks need an Online Store 2.0 theme. Shopify’s free themes are Online Store 2.0 themes. If the label does not appear where you expect, email us with the name of your theme.
No. The app stores only your store domain, an access token from Shopify and the settings you enter. It does not use cookies or tracking on your storefront. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Open the Plan card in the app. Click “Upgrade” to start the 14-day free trial. Click “Cancel subscription” to go back to the Free plan.
